“LIVE takes a whole-farm approach. LIVE growers use good practices and natural materials found on the farm to grow their grapes. When growers go off-farm for fertilizers, for example, or for grape disease treatments, they must choose from a limited list of approved materials. These are chosen for their safety to consumers, workers, and the environment. Many of these materials are also organic approved.”

For 23 vintages now, Argyle winemaker Rollin Soles has hand crafted world-class methode champenoise sparkling wine, barrel fermented Chardonnay, and silky textured Pinot Noir from Argyle farmed grapes grown on hillside slopes in the Willamette Valley’s cool, marine climate.
Argyle farms 500 acres of prime Willamette Valley vineyards under the supervision of viticulturist Allen Holstein. When the Old World viticultural model of high-density planting and small-cluster Dijon clones was being introduced to Oregon in the late 80s and early 90s, Argyle was at the forefront leading the way. The viticultural emphasis is on low yields to produce premium grapes hand picked into small baskets to preserve fruit quality.
